Oscilla’s modules can be adapted for and incorporated
into any AUV or ASV to enable the vehicle to
recharge its batteries from ocean waves without
the need for any additional infrastructure.
Oscilla Power has developed a solution that can
dramatically increase the endurance of AUVs.

When incorporated into a vehicle, the Wave Power
Capture System (WPCS) modules will harvest energy
from ocean waves providing energy independence
for the vehicle; allowing vehicle batteries to be
recharged without the need for docking or vessel
intervention.

The system generates power through the relative motion of the AUV body and the reaction plate. During charging, the vehicle will maintain a heading at minimum speed and perform housekeeping activities as needed, such as data transmission. The WPCS modules will dynamically adapt to the current wave state to optimize power generation efficiency.


A WPCS can be adapted to fit any shape vehicle.
Oscilla would design and contour the modules and deployable reaction structure to fit the target vehicle. In cases where there may be midbody instrumentation that would be obscured by the reaction plate, cutouts can be made without sacrificing significant power.
